Hello, I recently had a very interesting interaction with someone at a bar, basically my brother and I decided to go out for some food at a very popular and trendy restaurant in our city on a Saturday at around 5pm. Here’s the issue, we didn’t have a reservation and the wait time for a table was 2h; based on that, we decided to sit at the bar (which was packed obviously) and stood there for a while waiting for people to get up and leave. We stood there for like 20 mins and this couple finally got up and left (I was watching them the whole time). As I am walking towards them and they are getting up, an old dude that was sitting right next to them stops me and my brother and says “I’ll take these 2 and you can take my seat,” my brother says “yeah that’s fine” and he just switched seats. At this point, I’m a little bit confused because I thought we were getting 2 seats, but whatever. I then asked the old dude, “is your partner here?” He replies, “no, she’s coming soon”; a couple minutes went by (I was standing right next to him and his empty seat) and I say “I’m not trying to be rude but you shouldn’t be reserving a seat when the person is not here.” Then we basically started insulting each other and I tell him to fuck off…

The lady didn’t arrive for like another 10 minutes and after 20 mins we ended up moving to another area in the bar where me and my brother could sit. Since I was already standing I went to grab the other seats around the bar and as I am sitting I see my brother apologizing for my interaction with the boomer and saying I’m just a little bit hot-headed sometimes.
