So my daughter woke up w her first period this morning. I gave her something to use temporarily and was planning on us going to the store together to pick stuff up, pick it out together. I was also going to surprise her w a rose and a small gift. Instead, literally at sun up on this Sunday morning my daughter's friend shows up w a bag a pads, a stuffed animal, midol and chocolate because her friends mom obviously took her to drive all over and buy it.

I am pissed! This is my only daughter. I had plans for when this happened. A mother and daughter experience. I think her friends mother took it upon herself because she knows that I don't have a lot of money and that I don't have a car but I have ALWAYS taken good care of my children and they have ALWAYS HAD WHAT THEY NEEDED WHEN THEY NEEDED IT and she didn't even give me a chance as if it was even up to her to give me a chance.

I see this as HUGELY overstepping boundaries. Idk either the friend or the mother, never met either one. I certainly never asked for help from them or anyone. I had plans for this day. I am really pissed off about this and I don't see it at all as thoughtful gesture. I see it as being a busy body, making uninformed judgements and hugely overstepping boundaries.

I am having my daughter return it all tomorrow to her friend and her friend can give it back to the mom or whatever. But I feel like the moment is ruined. I am offended and angry and as a mother myself I would've never thought to show up to a families house (that I don't even know) at sunrise because the daughter of the people idk got her 1st period. It seems very weird and off putting. Am I the asshole?
