Not sure if this is gonna make ANY sense. Dogs and humans have souls cause I can love them and they can love me.

However, I can’t think of any other animal that has a soul. Just to get this out of the way: If I see roadkill, I’m going to be like, “oof, I wonder how they felt.” Or, “damn if that were me”. So I’m not a serial killer or anything. I still treat all life with respect and dignity. It’s just if I had a pet mouse or hamster or something (even cats)…I’m not gonna be absolutely HEARTBROKEN if they die. Cause they don’t even have a soul.

I mean, I was heartbroken cause of my cat Sox dying when I was younger (she was my first pet)…but I now look back and think, “well she didn’t love me, she just liked the pets and stuff”.

AITAH for thinking this? Does anyone think their non-dog pet has a soul? What makes you think that? Does anyone think dogs don’t have souls and cats and other animals do? I’d be interested to hear that opinion.
