My boyfriend broke up with me after a month and I really need some advice as I really don’t know if it was my fault.

I (17 female) and my ex boyfriend (17 male) had been together for a month. He did some things that I personally considered shitty since the beginning. For example, everytime I wanted to hang out with him after school, he came up with excuses such as he had to go to the gym. What really annoyed me was the fact that I was never able to cancel the plans he had made for us without him getting annoyed. For our 1 month anniversary, I got him a cute present and I was utterly disappointed when he showed up with nothing. I don’t want to sound materialistic or anything, I wasn’t expecting a big gift nor did I want him to spend large sums of money, but it is the thought that counts. I would’ve appreciated if he would’ve gotten me a flower.

I never told him the things that irritated me in his behavior as I didn’t want to stress him out, but I finally snapped when I found out about a girl who was sending him tik toks. It didn’t bother me at first, because I also send tik toks to my male friends from time to time. What got me was the fact that, as I found out later, they had talked before and they had been in a situationship. It really irked me because I felt deeply disrespected. When I confronted him, he told me that they’re just good friends, but he got really defensive.

After we argued for two days, he broke up with me. When I asked for the reason of the break up, I was told that I was stressing him out. Now I really need to know if I somehow exaggerated, even though I never reproached anything to him except for his interactions with this girl. Did I cross the line?
