50m retired military in 2018 currently working at one of the big tech firms. Been married for 27yrs, 3 kids all over 24. Financially, we have no worries. We’re not millionaires but we both could stop working now if we wanted.

Due to a shit ton of circumstances, all 3 of our kids, my 5yo grandson and mother in law live with us. My 71yo MiL has an apartment in the back yard. Even with her own space she is super overbearing. My wife is an only child and has an adversarial relationship with her mother, that’s putting it nicely. I know what you’re thinking, wtf did you move your in laws in your house? Solid question, my late father in law was in bad health at the time and wife is only child so here we are, FiL passed 3 yrs ago.

I want all these fuckers out of my house yesterday. My wife wants all of them too leave and at the same time is always first to want to solve there problems for them. If we were to ask everyone to leave it would have to be me to make the suggestion. My wife loves to rant about shit but when it comes to taking responsibility for decisions… she would rather complain instead of taking actions to fix them if it means potentially hurting feelings along the way. We’ve been in this situation for 5yrs.

I’m to the point where I resent this situation and everyone associated with (except my grandson of course). Aitah?
