My BIL (36 M) lives with me (31 F) and my boyfriend (35 M). He doesn’t pay for anything in the house since he is trying to get back on his feet. Me and my boyfriend have been together for two years. The BIL has been staying with us for 8 months now and brought a girl (34 F) over who is “just his friends with benefits” and a long time family friend. She stayed at the house and throughout her stay she wore booty shorts that barely covered her glutes. When I told my boyfriend that I thought it was inappropriate that she wore booty shorts around a house that was not hers, he told me that I needed to tell her that not him. & that if I was the one uncomfortable that I needed to address it not him. Mind you, this is the first time I meet this girl and he has known her for a long time. I asked him to tell his brother to inform her and he said that I was the one that had a problem, not them. When I asked him that if I was wearing booty shorts around his homeboys if he’d be okay with it, he said no. So I asked him if he told me something about it and I answered “well thats a you problem and you need to deal with it,” how would you feel. He answered that it was not the same. That it would be disrespectful if I did that around his friends and I asked him what the difference was then and he said that it was his brothers friends with benefits. Now I felt uncomfortable with this girl in my own home. Fast forward to today. My boyfriend works out of the city and his company provides and apartment. My BIL told him that him and the aforementioned girl would be around that area and they would probably be staying with him. When I told him I had an issue with that he and I quote said “If she is with my brother I’m not going to tell him they can’t stay with me because he’s with her.” Disregarding how I uncomfortable the idea made me feel. He said that I needed to tell the girl I had an issue with her next time and not take it out on him. When I asked for the girls number so I could talk to her he refused to give it to me.
