I was dating a woman who constantly canceled plans at the last minute. She often said I didn’t love her, that I would get tired of her, and even told me to go find someone else. She complained when I didn’t go see her, and when I said I would, she’d reply that her room was messy.
Whenever I commented on anything, she would threaten: “Don’t like it? I’ll leave.” She also tried to make me jealous by saying people were asking if she was single.
One day, she blocked me on WhatsApp and then sent me a text saying she missed me. Her mom called me asking what had happened and whether I really loved her daughter. Shortly after, my ex called inviting me to her mom’s birthday party.
More recently, she sent a message saying she loves me, that she misses me more than she expected, and asked if I wanted to come to her house. I said no. She replied saying I abandoned her, that the choice was MINE, and asked if I felt happy with that decision. She said she had given up waiting for me to come back and asked me not to message her anymore, so she wouldn’t get false hopes. She said I took away her happiness and she wanted it back.
During the relationship, she suggested I find someone else, didn’t want to share social media, didn’t seem to care about my presence, didn’t keep commitments, got upset over anything I said, and disappeared whenever I tried to open up. I don’t know what I did wrong. My feelings for her were real. Every time I tried to see her, she made excuses. She also encouraged me to download dating apps and, after the breakup, I found her on those same apps.
There was one specific situation: she said she wouldn’t go to a party, so I told her I’d go to church. Then she decided to go to her friend’s party and insisted I still go to church while she went out to have fun. When I noticed that, I told her that if she didn’t want me to go with her, she could’ve just said so. She said I hurt her.
I then asked if I could go to her place earlier to spend some time before the party, but she said no. Even so, I bought two chocolates and waited outside. Her sister saw me and invited me up. There, she introduced me as her boyfriend to her friends. That same day, in the middle of the party, out of nowhere she said: “Let’s download an app and find a hot girl for you?”
