This is a very tame and uninteresting post, but I had to move my neighbor’s laundry out of the machine today. I had a few experiences in college where this happened to me, but I was never more than 20 minutes late to my laundry and it always bothered me that people did this.
Today, I went against this.
For perspective, my apartment building has 8 units and one washer/one dryer.
I got back to my apartment at 9:45 PM and the dryer was completed and there was a neighbor’s laundry in it. I put my clothes in the washer and came back a half hour later. Their laundry was still in the dryer. No biggie, I can wait.
Half hour passes, laundry is still in there.
I decide to cook myself a late snack and eat it. When I finish, I watch the rest of the episode of a show that I’m on and go check. It is now 11:45 and their laundry is still sitting in there. I have to get up for work at 7:30 in the morning and I don’t feel like waiting all night for them to show up. So I set their laundry on top of the dryer and put mine in.
Is this acceptable? I feel like it is, considering how long this person’s laundry has been sitting there, but it felt violating grabbing their stuff and leaving it on the dryer.
Please wait...
