So I 27f decided to go to my bfs (30m) after work . It was 10 pm and he doesn’t live in a good area of the city at all . I have to park on the street so I was driving up and down to see where I could squeeze my car , unfortunately I was only able to find parking at the opposite end of the street . I could still see the door to his apartment from where I was able to park . I called him and asked him to please come meet me at my car so we could walk to his apartment together ( again can see his door ) he says no my son (5m) is inside . I said I wasn’t comfortable as one side walk had a group of people and the opposite side had a sketchy Mercedes . He then basically raised his voice and told me “ No I’m not leaving my son in the house alone “ . To me this is confusing because it would have taken less than 2 minutes . He wanted to wait on he porch for me but I don’t see the difference ? The wait time for him to meet me or wait on porch is the same and either way waiting outside or not he would have been away from his son ( he lives on the 3rd floor ) and again it would have taken less then 2 minutes. So I drove away , clearly upset .. because I didn’t feel comfortable . You can be on the porch watching me all you want but if a car or someone grabs me then what? He is always claiming the world is so scary and how I can’t do certain shit because it’s a “ evil world “ and I agree it can be a shady world . So aito for driving away ?

Edit - his son is 5 years old not months ! And I’m not mad about him putting his comfort and son first I’m trying to find out if I’m the aio for driving away because I was also uncomfortable walking up there
