My boyfriend had a biopsy done last Wednesday & I had a trip planned with my friends Friday-Sunday. I didn't want to go and told him I would cancel, but he was insistent I go. His family was very upset that I went on the trip (even though my bf told me to go) rather than stay home to comfort him during that time & take care of him since he has tendinitis. His mom took the liberty to tell his whole family that he may have cancer before the results came back and that I had gone a trip. We found out yesterday that he was diagnosed with cancer, but luckily it's treatable. We went and told his parents and as I was trying to comfor his mom, she looked at me with disdain and told me not to touch her. His family then calls him and says that I would be getting a lot of shit from his family for going on a weekend vacation rather than staying with him & they are basically implying he should not be with me. I'm being crucified and have become the villain in all this. Im very hurt & just an emotional wreck with everything that's going on. What should I do about about his family? Am I in the wrong? Should I keep taking the punches from his family until it goes away?
