To start off, I'm immunocompromised. If and when I get sick, I get sick HARD. I've had pneumonia 6 times since childhood, and when I get sick, it takes me out. I've ended up in the hospital a couple of times from some other issues.
I'm about a year and a half into the relationship, and now we live together. Normally, whoever goes in later to work takes care of the dogs. I was bedridden for about three days, and Monday morning rolls around. I was sweating buckets, so I ended up staying home from work both Monday and Tuesday. Both days, he had not fed the dogs before he went in for work, and unspokenly assumed I would take care of them despite me being stuck in bed. I'd need to go downstairs (if I'm sick, getting to the bathroom is a feat) and separate them, watch them and make sure that they don't eat each other's food as they both have food allergies.
He does pretty regularly say that he will do something but doesn't, like the dishes, or take his shoes off when he enters the house, taking a shower, changing the sheets, etc. But I normally have to tell him that it needs to be done - he doesn't notice that it needs to be done. He's getting better about his hygiene, which is great. He made a dentist appointment for the first time since we've started dating, as I've not wanted to kiss him since the smell is just eugh. I've also told him that that amount of bacteria isn't good for a normal person.
TLDR: AITA for expecting him to feed the dogs while I'm sick? I get really really sick.
