Let me preface this by saying I am already small and struggle massively with issues revolving eating. I am 5”5 and 48kg. I will also say that EDs are confusing and i did ask for his opinion pretty much so it’s my fault but it is a behaviour that is hard to control with an illness.

My boyfriend is attracted to skinny girls. That is fine, that is his preference. However, i sent a picture of myself to him showing off a new clothing item and i said i look underweight in the picture. He responded that the picture isn’t as good as i think it is as a joke but i took this literally and asked if he would prefer me if i was even skinnier. At first he said dont ask questions you dont want the answer to but this made it worse and i asked more. He eventually said yes, he likes ribs and small figures and although he is still attracted to me he thinks its always possible to be more attracted to me, which would be to be skinnier, and that yes he would be more attracted to me if i was skinnier. This went on with more questions on my behalf like what is it in particular about me and he answered with half-reassuring messages about how he likes me as i am but he likes ribs and the skinnier a woman is the more attractive he finds it. It is my fault for pressing for responses but when even a tiny comment is made i get worried and ask more and more. This is a problem he is aware of as i talk about it often and it is obvious in my behaviour. + i am diagnosed and i recently had to leave back to my parents house for a while due to how bad it got but i am better now.

Am i the one in the wrong here? I don’t want to cause any issues over this
