📝 My brother put a dent in my windshield and refuses to apologize. Aitah for thinking it's normal to apologize?

My brother was using my car to move some chairs among other things, and he accidentally put a dent in my windshield. He essentially said "it's not a big deal" when he came home and showed me, and he said he will take care of it, which I have no reason to doubt. My issue is that he did not apologize and he does not believe he should. He says it wasn't negligence, but if a chair was not leaning against the windshield, it would not have happened.

I and everyone else I know would apologize in this situation because that is basic manners. Amitah for thinking this way? Should I not be upset? I really love my car, so I may be unreasonable, but this feels like basic manners that I thought I understood all my life, and it feels like my brother doesn't think I'm worth apologizing to, which he denies. He says that he feels that people value objects more than people, and this does not matter at all. Need perspective.
