I have a ritual. I am a shock trauma/ER nurse (night shift- occupation and shift by choice. I do this to myself.) and I work very long hours so I can take several days off at a time. My husband's birthday is in a few days and his mother shows up as a surprise. This is the usual. I hate it and he hasnt put a stop to it despite my requests. My ritual is that two nights before my first shift I slam a bottle of wine and whatever the fuck I want.. This happens once a month. His family showed up on my night so after dinner I put on my headphones and started slamming. He's mad that I did it while they were there.

Edit: I gotta say before I get deeper and I more ppl comment. My husband is amazing. He's my absolute rock and has every right to be frustrated with me at times because I'm no angel and am often impatient. Part of me wants to vent. Part of me just wants to stfu and deal.
