My father makes a lot more money than my mother… maybe 30x what my mother makes, and because of that, he is able to afford luxuries my mother can only dream of. Here’s the thing. Even though they are divorced, my father has gone out of his way to include my mother on most trips to create that family environment for my siblings and me.

Recently, my father booked a trip to Europe for my siblings and me but didn’t include my mother on it. My mother learned about the trip a month after all the arrangements had been made. My mom can’t afford it on her own, but if I empty my savings (25k), I could pay for her. The thing is I’d been wanting to use my savings as a down payment on a house, but at the same time, I don’t want my mom to miss out on experiences because she can’t afford it. This is a shitty feeling.
