📝 No emotions

Not sure how to word this exactly but I recently got a job promotion that requires me to move abroad for a few years. I told my family and they are all supportive but the closer my departure date comes the more emotional they are becoming and I don’t really understand why. I get that we will be a good distance apart but like my mom is crying over when we already only see each other maybe once a year. We mainly talk on the phone daily which isn’t going to change. Same with my little sister we are on FaceTime together pretty much our entire shifts during the day. Again I get it’s a big distance so we can’t plan spontaneous trips…but we aren’t really the type of family that does spontaneous trips. We need a whole month to plan a dinner. When I point this out to my family they kind of take it as I’m not going to miss them, which I’m kind of not because nothing about our relationship is changing. AITAH for not being emotional about moving away from family?
