AITA - So Yesterday My Girlfriend and I were going to the mall for shopping for her friend's birthday coming up. It was the weekend and the mall was jampacked with people. We got the parking lot, drove around for 10-15 minutes without finding a parking spot. We noticed a car turn on their hazard lights sitting there. We noticed a couple leaving and walking to their car parked several cars behind the car with the hazard lights on. So, we proceeded to follow the couple and signal indicating our spot.

The then hazard lights car decided to back up the car and then signal at the same spot the couple leaving indicating they are getting the spot. The Lady in the car pointed that it was her spot and even flash her lights at us. We were about to turn in and then the car got in front of us in which my girlfriend responded with "let her have it" as she noticed couple leaving to their car down the lot.

The lady then walked by our car and shook her head in which I responded with "you know you were wrong for that right?" in which she responded "I was waiting here the whole time, how about you be considerate of other people", in which I responded "you already have the parking spot, you know the hazard lights don't dictate you get any spot you want and you were parking up there and had to reverse the car". I was letting this go until she made some gesture at me before she walked away. I can understand if the car leaving was leaving in front of her car but this was way behind in which she had to back up her car and almost hitting some pedestrian walking.

AITA for responding back to her like this? My girlfriend was mad at me afterwards for getting into an argument with this lady. I felt like I did nothing wrong in this case.
