So, my cousin is having her first confirmation in a few months and her mom has pretty much gotten everything planned out and ready except for the dress. They didnt have it and have been looking everywhere for my cousin's preferred type wich was white with a few nice designs. Turns out that the godmother of my cousin is the one responsible for getting the dress and was currently in Mexico visiting relatives. My cousin's mother and the godmother are step cousin's. For years I overheard many stories from my family about both of them having feuds against eachother, ranging from beliefs, looks, attitude, money all the way to racism. Which is crazy because they are both the same race. Each side of the family has slowly drifted apart over the years and events are almosts never as big as they used to be because of them not wanting to invite eachother. It is only recently that they see eachother more because my cusin asked her to be her godmother knowing very well that she and her mom don't like eachother. I know my cousin, she is very kind and cares about others and wants everyone to be together and just like me, she has felt how her family became smaller and smaller all because of these dumb feuds. When she asked her to be her godmother, she very happily said yes. Finally the family can spend time together in this beautiful ceremony. While the godmother was in Mexico, she though that it would be a good idea to get a dress from there instead of in the US. She asked my cousin's mom if this was alright but she was worried that she would get one that doesn't fit since the sizes are different and that she would get the wrong one. The mom eventually said yes and sent her pictures of the type of dress my cusin wanted. The godmother agreed to find a similar one and send her pictures. Out of nowhere my cousin's mom gets a picture sent to her of an ugly outdated pink colored dress that looks like it came straight out of temu, with a message saying "look, isnt this cute". My Aunt showed us the picture and the message and thought that this was a joke. It was not. The godmother really liked the dress and so both of them started to argue over the phone. My Aunt was saying that if she couldn't find a similar dress, then the will find it together here in the US. The Godmother argued that the dress was very beautiful and told my Aunt that since she is the one in charge of purchasing the dress then she will pick the dress. This of course got my Aunt very heated and blurted out, "this is why I don't trust you, I tell you to do me one favor and you just go ahead and do whatever you want". Godmother: "Im buying this dress and thats it". Aunt: "Why would you do that, it looks horrendous". As I was leaving the living room to escape hearing more of this argument before it got worse, I hear the godmother say, "not as horrendous as you where wearing that wedding dress to marry the love of my life". I felt chills everywhere right after I heard that and closed the door behind me. Was this the reason our family seperated? The other people left in the living room was my mother and aunt's and I decided to not go back there for the time being. Instead I stayed outside and stared kicking a soccerball mindlessly thinking about what just happened. After about an hour, my mother came out and said it was time to go. I said goodbye to my aunts. They seemed normal and probably thought i didn't hear it. Now it is Monday and the Godmother should be getting back here in 2 days with the dress I think. Not really sure if she bought it or not, I didnt ask my mom about anything that happened really. So who is the asshole? Maybe I will make an update if they come with the dress.
