AiTAH for thinking that in a marriage the idea of splitting 'house chores' is a bit of a myth. I 33/m and my wife 33/f are very much on the same page as far as roles go in the household. We both tag team duties and there's no real definition who does what just get the job done.
Well... In recent years she has turned into 'women shouldn't have to bare the load and you need to do more in the house' type. Truthfully I already do more than my fair share as my wife travels a lot for work and I take care of every aspect of our families life when she's gone including raising our two kids. She also expects a pure 50/50 split when she's here (which is fine) but the myth comes in when you get to house maintenance. She would NEVER get on a ladder, cut the grass, paint something, turn a wrench, get on the roof, take out the trash.... Absolutely NEVER.
So I ask.... AiTAH for thinking "shared duties" is really pretty impossible?
