My partner (f48) says she’ll break up with me (f38) if take a travel nurse assignment. Not even one and not even if it’s within a few hours of our home. The reason is that she doesn’t want a relationship where she doesn’t see the person every day. However, I worked almost everyday at my permanent job because I have so much debt and how expensive everything is now. I feel like I have no life because when I’m actually off, I’m too tired to go out and do much.

If I travel nurse I can just work full time instead of constantly doing overtime. I’ve always dreamed of relocating (my ex doesn’t want to) so this is a way to see the country and change up my monotonous life. My partner refuses to go with me due to aging parents. There’s no compromising.

I feel like an asshole taking an assignment against her wishes because she is truly a great partner and has is having some health problems. I also feel guilty that if we broke up; I wonder what it would be like to be with a man again. My partner and I have been together over a decade and are only intimate like once a year and usually drinking.
