Hi everyone,

So apparently, she called her mum, who then came at me with a strong tone, thinking I was rude to her daughter (she's 26, not 6 but okay). I stayed calm and explained everything because I didn’t want it to escalate. After I told her the whole story, the mum apologized over and over. She said she thought her daughter HAD asked for permission, and she didn’t understand why she didn’t. She excused it as “she’s just like that, means no harm” and promised to talk to her so she’d apologize. She even asked for my account number to send me cash for the fuel she used. I declined. I told her it’s fine and I wouldn’t accept it.

A few neighbors also approached us (apparently news travels fast around here) and asked what happened. We told them the truth, and they weren’t surprised. Apparently, she has a reputation for borrowing things like rakes or some appliances and not returning them unless people ask directly, so most of them just stopped lending her stuff altogether. They even asked me why on earth I let her borrow my car of all things, saying if anything happened, I’d be liable, and she's like the 1/10 of the people who wouldn’t take responsibility.

They also said she lied about having friends she doesn’t...not for the 4 years she's been living here. I asked if she’s ever done drugs like some people suggested in the comments, and they said no, or at least they’ve never seen her doing them.

She still hasn’t apologized, and she’s doing the whole ignoring thing but honestly, idgaf. Be my guest. I now know who to avoid.
