So my roommate has been refusing to pay his share of the electricity bill these past two months. He’s verbalized not wanted to pay it especially considering our increase in bill as national grid has been historically raising prices in response to what’s going on today.

My question is WIBTA for moving a month in advance and cancelling out electricity service / moving it to a new location. I would be willing to tell him my intent to do so and give a deadline to pay me. However if he doesn’t I fully would like (and can) move early while turning off service for that area and just pay it off myself.
