I have a neighbor who constantly blocks access to my walkway, front door and mailbox. I live in a small city so I understand that street parking is a way of life and since they are not directly blocking my driveway, I feel like I should not complain.
However, their parking makes it hard to access my front door. Delivery drivers have complained to me about my parking in front of my house. Yesterday had to dig up half a garden bed to provide the stump grinder access because their car was blocking the regular path to my house and concrete walkway (my yard is raised so this is the only access point that does not require stairs). If I used a walker or wheelchair, I would be housebound.
I wish I could add a photo but based on how they park you can’t access my front door without stepping on my flowers/garden bed. It was fine in the winter but I’ve put all this work into my garden and it hurts to see it trampled daily by the postman.
I have one car and a shared driveway so space is already tight and I never get to park in front of my house while my neighbors have 4 cars and regularly park in front of my house while only using their spacious driveway for 1 car at a time.
Would it be AH-ish to ask them to not block my walkway even though it’s not a driveway given we live in a city and they might have to walk an extra half block to find another space?
