So my schools prom is coming up. I am a junior and it is my first prom with my boyfriend of one year now. This is the dumbest problem but it's stressing me out. My mom just took me to buy this amazing Sherri hill dress, I have a hair appointment the day of, and I'm getting a tan a few days before. My amazing boyfriend was so excited and he really wanted to go to a hot pot near us before. He's been talking about it the whole year we've been dating. We just haven't made it. The issue is I feel like that's an awful idea for prom, I mean my hair would get greasy and me and my dress would smell like food the whole night. Plus it would take like two hours and I feel like getting all dressed up to sit in a restaurant is just pointless. I told him it worried me a little and he was super supportive and suggested going to Ford's garage instead. I feel so spoiled but also is a sports bar a weird place to go before prom?? I also have never been but I looked it up and it just says it's a sports bar so idk. I ended up realizing I couldn't just shoot down every place he suggested so I back peddled and said we should go where he really wants - melting pot. Would I be the AH if I try to suggest other places?? He seems so excited, and it's his senior prom so I don't want to make it all about me. I genuinely just want to know.
