I 33M have been seeing a girl 30F for 2 months, but have decided I want to end it. The dilemma is, I won't be able to see her for a while and there's already some build up to how exciting that visit will be.

Should I be "respectful" and break it off in person, even though it will come as a shock excited to see me after a while apart? Or should I do it over the phone now?

Over the phone feels like the more respectful move but has always been considered wrong. I've always been honest to her and don't feel right dragging things out just to end things in person.
