I (35f) have been hooking up with my best friend (35m) For the past year. We discussed that we didn't want a relationship at the time and we'd keep things casual. Its worked out pretty great. We haven't been using protection, but ive been taking the pill religiously. While we both have great careers and are stable, we're just not wanting kids or a relationship right now. We're focusing on ourselves, our careers, and healing from past traumas. Well. The birth control failed. Id missed my period back in February, which wasn't a big heads up because I have always been irregular. A couple weeks ago I started getting really nauseous during the day, thought maybe i was sick because it is flu season and I just generally have a week stomach. When it didn't pass or have other symptoms I got scared and took a test. Sure enough, Im pregnant. I made the dr appointments and went to them myself. Im about 9 weeks along, Ill be having the procedure done next Monday at which point I'll also be switching birth control per the advice of the doctor. I feel a little bad about not telling him, as neither of us have kids and we are getting a little older. I don't think he'd change his mind, however. He hasn't pushed the intimacy or anything, so I think we'll be safe till the new BC is effective, and im sure he'll be fine and not question anything if I ask him to wrap it again. So WIBTAH if I go through the whole abortion process without him ever knowing?

Note: neither of us are religious so its not like he'd want to keep it for that reason. When we first messed around he would often joke about abortions if anything happened.
