My (23m) brother (29m) has recently become homeless after my dad filed a restraining order against him. Important thing to know that he has diagnosed schizophrenia and has been in and out of hospitals a lot due to refusing medication, yet no place has been able to hold him long term nor have we had much look finding one.
After his most recent hospitalization, I was able to drop off his phone and wallet so that he’d at least have this with him. I thought he’d be transferred to another hospital but found out he was released when I got a notification from the food delivery service app he uses (my account that I gave access to him).
The problem is he’s not medicated and he doesn’t want to contact me. Every call I make gets redirected to voicemail and he’s not responding to any of my messages. When he does pick up, he just hangs up immediately.
I’d be okay with him ordering food for himself because it tells me he’s alive and eating, but the issue is that he’s ordering excessive amounts of food I’m assuming to hand out to other homeless people. Stuff like ordering 14 hashbrowns or 4 large drinks. He’s also ordering alcohol and I’ve been doing my best to cancel those orders whenever I see them.
I technically could pay for all of this, but I don’t really want to? We were never close growing up so and the past year or 2 have been kinda crazy with family stuff. My concern is if I delete the account I won’t be able to tell where he is anymore or if he’s alive. But also at the same time, this guys ordering $60+ worth of food everyday as well as alcohol. But also again, I don’t want to pay for him anymore. AHHHH
