So this might sound petty but I need to know if I’m in the wrong here because I’m losing my MIND. For context I (19F) am from Costa Rica but im studying in Madrid, and honestly it’s been great. Like obvs I miss my family and food (more on that later) and in general my country but being here has been such a cool experience until this girl entered my life.

Let’s call her Sofia (not her real name obvs) who is also from Costa Rican like me. I didn’t go to high school with her but Costa Rica is TINY yall. To the point that if you went to a private or international school you will recognize each other from parties friends in common, etc and sadly I recognized Sofia right away when I saw her during the first week. And OMG yall I swear everyone here WORSHIPS this girl. Idk why but people here act like she’s some ethereal goddess who floats through life handing out world peace. She’s always doing that fake cute girl giggle, like she wouldn’t hurt a fly. But I KNOW THE TRUTH.

Back home Sofia was literally Satan in pastel Zara outfits. I didn’t know her personally but my best friend went to school with her and yall the stories I’ve heard?? ICONIC levels of villainy. Like a Disney villain I swear. This girl bullied her classmates like it was her career. She once berated a girl during a group project for talking to Sofia’s BF (that btw was paired with the girl for a school assignment, not even flirting). And also my friend has VIDEO EVIDENCE of Sofia grabbing this poor girl by the hair and calling her all kinds of names. I kept this info in the vault because I didn’t want drama but it’s been bubbling under the surface for months. And btw she doesn’t even hang out with the other students form CR or even from other Latin American countries, she just has Spanish and American friends.

Anyway, I’ve been trying to avoid Sofia because I don’t want to mess up my vibe here. But a few days ago she crossed the fcking line. I was sitting at one of the study areas on campus, and I had brought a Trits that my friend sent me from Costa Rica because she visited Spain with her bf for her birthday. This is important because Trits are THE superior snack from CR and I swear you CANNOT get them here unless someone lovingly smuggles them in their suitcase. So I was savoring my last one like it was gold, you feel me? I went to the bathroom for literally 60 seconds, came back and Sofia was eating my freaking Trits.

I stood there like 🧍🏻‍♀️ trying to process what was happening. She just smiled at me all sweetly and was like “omgggg I haven’t had one of these in forever. I miss Costa Rican snacks so much!” Like BABES THAT WAS MY LAST ONE. And she knew exactly what she was doing because she didn’t even apologize. Just kept chewing while humming on song.

That was it for me. I’ve never felt rage like that in my life, my body was literally trembling with anger yall. I’m not the kind of person that usually likes to get involved in drama but I swear this just made me HATE that little blonde biatch. Later I found her at a campus event pulled her aside and told her straight up: “If you dont get me a trits for next week I’m telling all your friends here who you REALLY are. And I have a video to prove it.” Her face went pale. She stammered something about how she was “just a kid back then” (girl, this was like two years ago bffr) and begged me not to say anything.

Now I feel conflicted. On one hand, I didn’t actually show the video (yet), and maybe threatening her was a bit much, but on the other hand… SHE STOLE MY TRITS. And honestly I’m sick of watching everyone fawn over this girl when I know she’s a whole cockroach in disguise. Should I just let it go and be the bigger person? Or was I justified in threatening to expose her for the bully she truly is for eating my trits?
