I feel bad for her. Her father fell ill about 1.5 years ago and moved in with her and husband. He had them. Due to their pets and his poor health they can't use poison. So they've been taping up their mattress and covering their house in that white powder stuff for the last year and half.

3 months ago she told me it had been months since she had seen one and thought for sure they were gone so I excitedly invited her to a girls trip planned for July.

Two weeks later she said they were back and she was cracking down on them again and it wouldn't be a problem. I was concerned but looked into it and a second wave of infestion is normal when treating them like this and normally can be handled.

About a month ago she texted me she had new bites and had found a two live ones on her body. I told her that the refund window on the reservation was closing and she may want to consider canceling and she asked me why?

She said she would take all her clothes directly from the dyer to a brand new suitcase in the car and shower before leaving and I told her flat out no. The owner of the air bnb we were renting was close to my family and would know where they came from. She insisted she had looked and in that state where its at bed bugs are "100% landlord responsibility and a consequence of opening your house to strangers" and not something she was going to concern herself with because it had been years since she had a vacation.

Ever since then she had been dead silent mentioning them and when I ask I get "we got rid of those forever ago". I want to tell her she can't go but I'm not sure if I can morally especially now she's insisting they're gone even though she's had them nearly two years.
