I am in year 11 and last week i had drama and we were practicing for our exam and my class were doing a scene from the play the dawn raids by Oscar knightly (if you dont know what the dawn raids are they are when Pacific Islanders came from their home country to New Zealand for better job opportunities and basically the police came at around 2-3 in the morning and raid the pacific islanders house for overstayers and if one was found they would be taken away and deported this was based around racism as most of the over stayers in New Zealand were european) anyway so there were six groups in my class after me and my group spilt up as we were going to repeat it twice with the same person playing the cop but then my international friend was alone as her group left as their time was up in my country so she played the cop for our group so we spilt up. Then 2 lessons before the exam me and my group saw the other group that was a part of my group before use the same blocking as my group which you might think isn't a big deal but our scene was hard to block and with the other 2 groups with the same scene and script it was the only move to separate us and make us stand apart from the other groups. So i hold my friend in the group that we are upset,disappointed and mad she said that she would talk to ruby (fake name) but i had to be with her so i said fine as it was the only way to tell the ruby to stop and create another move but i am not confrontational so i knew i was going to find it hard so i walked behind my friend as she goes up to ruby and says eve (fake name) wants to tell you something so i explain our scene was hard to block and with the other 2 groups with the same scene and script it was the only move to separate us and make us stand apart from the other groups but i must have been quiet so she couldn't understand and she basically said we thought of it collectively as a group when me and my group know that its a lie as we blocked it when ruby was sick and my friend was in Aussie . The next day i tell my friend about it in math class as i wanted advice on what to do about the problem and then she says that she can talk to ruby in media as they share media and are in the same class, so i say ok whatever so my friend tells ruby and ruby sends an email to me but i dont see it till third period then i message back and explain my reasoning and i send it and she replies half an hour later with an other email and when we have drama 5th period my friend comes up to me as she want to sort it out and she asked if we can go to mr and i say sure but she has to talk to ruby about it then ruby said they wont use it. But when the exam day comes along and they use it and ruby over heard us talking to mr as we said we wanted red and blue lights and police car sirens as the cop enters and they also copy that. so am i the asshole for gate keeping the blocking?
