this story was from when i was in highschool, so i don't need any advice now. (i just joined reddit for funsies and want to share a few stories to see what other people think.)
so i was on the varsity tennis team, and one day i came in a few minutes late, so i skipped running around the courts that day and got to stretching with the other girls. i didn't mind it at all because running twice around six courts was not the most fun part of being on the team, and it also wasn't a common occurence for me.
anyway, this one other girl on the team noticed i came in late and was in the same year as me. after we were finished stretching, she came up to me and said that "we were all expected to do the laps."
now, i'd understand more even if she was a little bit older and better than me. to be completely honest, she... wasn't. i'm not going to expand on her skills on tennis because that would be irrelevant and unkind. lol.
i just told her "yep i know, i was just a bit late and wanted to be at the same stage as everyone else." (if everyone who was late had to do the full laps and stretches every time they were late then the lessons and practices would take much longer, since most of the girls on the team are on there to put varsity tennis on their resumes. no one really cared ever)
she got pretty mad at that, but just walked away. i decided to brush it off, because it wasn't that big of a deal.
anyway, a few days or maybe a week goes by, and while running i see her cut across three of the courts (only doing half of the running). i decide to be a bit petty but not make a huge deal, so after we were done i mentioned to her that we were expected to run two laps across six courts, not three.
she told me that she didn't care and that she was out of breath and couldn't finish it (she is a bit bigger so she has done this multiple times) and that she tried her best anyway. so i was just kind of like hmm, that's funny.
i didn't want to have a fight with her or anything because i wanted to uphold my reputation and stay on the team, since having problems with other members isn't good teamwork in the long run.
anyway, nothing really came out of the scenario, but i just wanted to know what other people thought of the story.
