📝 AITA for being salty over my friend befriending the guy that harassed me for weeks?

I f18 and my friend f18; I’ll call her Lacey; have been friends since middle school and have honestly drifted apart throughout high school. At one point I considered her my best friend, but for most of this school year I’ve felt kind of betrayed by her. We’re both in our senior year and have our English class with these group of boys. They’re your classic annoying high school boys but this year they’ve gotten grosser. When this whole thing was at its peak, my other friend revealed that the main boy in this story; who I’ll call Shawn had sexualized her in the past by staring at her chest and making eye contact with her. This whole thing started early in the year, probably around September. Me, Lacey and Shawn all had English together and only I and Shawn had math together. During this time, Shawn sat near me in our math class and for whatever reason wanted to start harassing me by pretending to be friends and loudly asking me things. Things like “hey! Hey! We’re friends right? Answer me haha” and “why won’t she answer me guys! Look look!” “Will you do the math homework for me?” All stuff like that. It’s important to note that he’d do this in our English class too, but only at the end or beginning of class so our teacher wouldn’t notice because our class was too small for him to get away with it. During the 2ish weeks of him doing this, I told my friends and all felt some kind of empathy except for Lacey. Whenever i mentioned it, she would stay quiet and not add much. Once we changed seats in my math class, it seemed like the harassment for the most part would stop. That was until about a few days later. One night my parents discovered a puppy wondering the streets of our neighborhood and right in our front yard. We brought it inside to look for a tag and keep it from the streets. The dog had a collar, but no tag. We decided to all post the dog around on social media. I decided to share a picture of the dog and the context to my schools group snap chat story. I only had Shawn’s snap because we worked on our English final last year so he was able to DM me, replying to the story I posted. He replied saying the puppy was his, and me; being relentlessly harassed by him wanted to take some assurance so I replied “are you serious” and what he followed with was definitely what made me crack. He replied with “nah I’m going to eat it”. I immediately blocked him and told my friends about it. A few days later, another one of my friends revealed that Shawn had randomly added them by search, and the conversation devolves into us hating on him lol and then Lacey goes “why do yall hate him so much he ain’t that bad” and I proceed to remind her that he harassed me and made a terrible joke and she replied with “🤷‍♂️ I’d consider myself acquaintances. And proceeded to tell us one time she hung out with a group of guys and he was there and they hung out. This really set me off and I confused in a few friends who were also in this group chat because I was really weirded out that she’d defend him while barely knowing him and the fact he was the one who did shit to me. One of my friends were on my side and the other was kind of in the middle. Since this incident, me and Lacey haven’t hung out in a non large group setting since and she barely talks to me unless she needs something of me. Now, I just wonder if it’s even worth it considering her a friend and considering just cutting her off. Any advice would be nice but I’ll be ignoring any rage bait or anything hateful.

Extra context:

-Lacey doesn’t want to date Shawn, or at least I don’t think she’d cheat on her boyfriend with him.

-we’ve all had classes together in our previous years, so she already knows Shawn is kind of a class clown and an annoyance

  • there’s honesty even more drama about her boyfriend, who was apart of a group of boys who cyber bullied my friend and I’m fairly confident Lacey knew about this or just her boyfriends involvement.

-yes I told my teacher about Shawn before this all happened, but I had to wait until the next time our math teacher switched the seats to get away from him.
