Hey everyone, I (26F) was casually seeing a guy (let's call him John, 29M) for a short time. We initially started dating, and I ended up losing my virginity to him. After realizing we weren't very compatible relationship-wise, I suggested shifting to more of a friends w/ benefits dynamic (which, honestly, has been emotionally painful and I wouldn’t recommend).
We only slept together twice, and both times, I was the one who drove about 20 minutes to his place.
Even though the arrangement was casual, I started feeling increasingly low about myself — like I was putting in more effort and being treated cheaply (which I recognize might have more to do with my own self-worth struggles, but it still hurt).
Recently, we had a conversation (attached in the screenshots) where I asked him to drive to me for once, and he wasn’t willing, citing being tired after working a double shift.
After that, I decided to end things
My friends (and his) think I overreacted — that it wasn’t fair to cut him off over this.
I’m now wondering:
AITA for being upset and ending the connection over what might seem like a small thing? Or was it fair to walk away because it didn’t feel good to me anymore?
I’m genuinely open to honest feedback. I’m trying to learn and grow. Thanks.
