some background I (M17) came from nigeria to Canada and I've been living in canada for like to years now, I'm also very not tolerant towards dumb and racist remarks and most people have the common sense to avoid that around me due to my size and composure (6'4 250 pound semi muscular kid)

There's this german girl (F16) in my school who hangs out in my friend group's "lunch room" yesterday she asked me during lunch "do they play catch the tiger in africa" and after not saying anything in order to prevent a larger altercation, i walk away to a different group

After roughly 10 minutes her dad calls her like and they talk for like 5 minutes, and she says to a mutual friend that her dad found out her mom cheated on him 7 years ago and her younger brother who is 6 years old turning 7 might not be his and the moment i heard that i just fuckin laughed man i laughed for like 10 minutes, I'm honestly not sure if i would ever experience joy like that again.

After that happened, in a group chat that my friends are in, alot of them are telling me i was immature for how i responded to that info because that was a personal issue and i didnt know how that would affect her.

I personally feel like i was justified in what i did because i fully believe that putting out bullshit energy warrants a bullshit response.

So reddit, AITA
