📝 AITA for locking the house door?

I live with my mom and siblings in a pretty safe area, but one can never be too safe so I lock it when I’m alone. When my mom and her bf are home, they never lock the door. But I’m scared to leave it unlocked, you never know. Especially being a female and being alone most of the time cause I wfh.

I don’t speak to my brother because we had a falling out and to be honest I’m a little scared of him. He’s younger than me but he’s bigger and has anger issues. Today he didn’t go to work so he was home but left at one point. I wanted to go to the supermarket to stock up on some things, but he blocked my car. I was too afraid to say anything so I kept quiet and decided to go tomorrow.

I took my dogs out, came back inside, and locked the door. Because I was alone. My brother came back home an hour later and slammed the door. I thought maybe the wind made it slam hard (it’s windy atm). He then left again but moved his car and took a different car. So I decided I’d take advantage of it and buy my groceries.

I came home and locked the door, because I was alone. I saw a shadow figure in the window and thought it was Amazon. So I went to check the window in the kitchen and saw it was my brother, so I stayed in the kitchen. To which my brother came in and slammed the door even harder and kicked down the gate that he uses as a door. (He doesn’t have a door, and we use a gate to keep the dogs out)

At that point I started panicking and couldn’t hold it in so now I’m in the living room crying thinking maybe I shouldn’t lock the door. So AMITA?
