For context, I have anorexia, and I have accepted that and have been working on my recovery. A few days ago, I visited my boyfriends family, just a normal hangout with his parents. We'll call my boyfriend W, and his mom S. Once we were ready for dinner, I stupidly refused and told them I wasn't hungry. Looking back, I should've just eaten, but I felt like I couldn't. S told me she wanted to talk to me, and I honestly figured it was nothing serious, but it was. She starts full on lecturing me, saying "you need to fucking eat, I'm not going to get arrested for assisted murder if you die from starving." I thought that was absurd, because in no way is that murder!! I told her this and she just lashed out at me, saying the same thing over and over. After taking a break from talking to her, until I felt more calm, I let her know that I felt hurt by the way she was talking about me, because I am really trying my best. She responded with "if you aren't going to eat, you aren't welcome in my home". That just hurt even more, because I had always felt safe there. W confronted her, and she brushed it off, saying "it's not because of her not eating, it's because my back hurts." WHAT. THE. FUCK. I feel like she realized she fucked up and just changed the subject. So, AITA?
