My mom is old and she has recently gotten sick. She can no longer live alone.

My sister and I are her only children. My sister thinks we should take turns having her over and taking care of her.

The problem is that I'm at work most of the day which means my wife will be the one taking care of her. My wife is only 24 and she is already taking care of a toddler and we want more kids. I don't think it's fair to expect her to care for my mom as well.

I told my sister that she should take mom in. Her kids are almost teenagers so she must have plenty of free time. Also most importantly, it's OUR mom not my wife's. It's not her responsibility.

She thinks I'm a jerk because she goes to work, takes care of 2 kids, and does most of the house chores. I told her she has a husband problem then and she got angry. She said my wife is "doing nothing all day" because we have a part time nanny and a maid. I told her that my wife does plenty around the house and it doesn't change the fact that it's not her mom or her responsibility.

I'm willing to pay for a nurse or a nursing home but she doesn't want to pay half of the expenses.

She thinks I'm an asshole.
