So I (29m) and my friend (29f) decided to have a lunch meetup to catchup a couple weeks ago. I specify the genders, because I know there can be increased behavioral expectations on men in relationships with women (both platonic and romantic). We had not met in person in a while, but we were good friends from college and had kept up relatively well through text.
She does not have a car and so has to uber everywhere. So we met up in the middle for lunch. We had a good lunch and towards the end I asked if she was going to call an uber home. She stated she thought I was going to drive her home, and that one of her male platonic friends had driven her back to her place when they went out to eat. I was a bit taken aback, since I thought she should have specific earlier that she wanted me to take her back. I wasn't super busy the rest of the day, but I had errands+gym I wanted to get to. It probably would have added an extra hour to my trip to take her home depending on traffic at that time, since I would have had to go the opposite way of my place to get to hers.
I ended up declining to take her back due to the inconvenience. She ordered the uber, but was a bit short with me the rest of the time and has given me the silent treatment since then. She also has a decent job and is not hurting for money. So AITA in this situation? I'm legitimately not sure and am interested to know.
