So I (M, 23) recently got this really cool Xbox Controller it's a transparent Grey Cipher controller. I bought it as a gift to myself due to I getting a new job. I live with my roommate (M, 25) who also has an Xbox and he has 2 controllers that work perfectly fine, but he is super rough with them.
I usually keep my Xbox in my bedroom but this time I decided to move it out of the bedroom and into the living room so I can take advantage of my 4k TV. As I was playing my roommate saw my new Xbox Controller and kept asking questions about how I got it, how much it cost, and if it worked with my Xbox since he has the Series X and I have a One X. he kept staring and ultimately asked if he could hold it. I am very delicate with my things and it genuinely hurt giving him my controller knowing how rought he treats his and what made it even worse is that he was eating an orange and didn't even wash his hands as he was harshly turning the analog sticks.
Anyways he gave me the controller back and proceeded to ask me "hey man can I use the controller someday to play my games, I think you're controller looks really cool and I would love to play with it" I responded back with " uhhh yeah man sure I guess you can use it one day". Ever since then I have kept the controller in my room because I am afraid that he will mess up my controller.
to sum it all up. I don't want to give him my controller because I am very delicate with my things I haven' been diagnose with OCD or anything but when my things aren't in perfect or at least decent condition I freak out so I really do not want to give him my controller. It also confuses me why he wants to use mine since he has 2 controllers of his own that do the exact same thing yeah they're beat up but he plays with them everyday no problem.
so AITA?
