Okay, so, let me start by saying this was not some revenge thing, but maybe it kind of turned into that. Here’s the story:
So, I (22F) broke up with my ex (23M) a few months ago. It was messy, there were tears, and some notso pretty things were said, but whatever, life goes on, right? Well, my ex invites me to this party at his place with his friends, and I’m thinking, Sure, whatever, it’ll be fine. We’re adults. I can handle this.
Now, I’m not going to lie I knew he’d be there, and I knew it would be a little awkward, but also, I knew I looked good. I mean, I really looked good. I had this dress I’ve been dying to wear, and it hugs my body in all the right ways. I felt like a million bucks and honestly thought, “Why not? I’m going to have fun tonight.”
So, I show up to the party, and the second I walk in, all eyes are on me. Like, I knew I looked good, but damn, I didn’t expect to cause this much of a stir. His friends were all complimenting me (and yes, some of them were looking me up and down in a way that felt like more than just friendly attention). But my ex? He went quiet. Like, he didn’t even acknowledge me. He barely said hi, and just kind of sulked the whole night.
Now, I wasn’t there to ruin anyone’s night, but I also wasn’t going to shrink down because of his awkward energy. So I spent the night chatting with his friends, having a blast, and yes, being the center of attention. I didn’t try to make him jealous, but it’s kind of hard when the whole room notices you and he’s stuck looking like a grumpy toddler in the corner.
The next day, he texts me all upset, saying I was “making it uncomfortable” and “trying to steal his spotlight.” I honestly don’t get it. I wore a hot dress, had some fun, and didn’t make any scenes. But now, he’s barely talking to me and says I ruined the vibe of the party.
So… AITA for showing up at my ex’s party looking like a snack and causing all that drama? Or was he being a little too sensitive?
