Hi everyone, I (20F) have been having a little bit of conflict with my aunt about her son (22M) for a while now and I just wanted to know if i was the A-hole or not. A little background information, my dad and my aunt are siblings. Me and my cousin were fairly close when we were younger but grew distant as we got older. We live about 16 minutes away from eachother, and don’t really see eachother often.

About 2 weeks ago, my aunt called me asking me if I was going to a family party, which I told her i was. She then proceeded to tell me to ask HER SON if he would go because she could not make him, which I said I would. She then proceeded to tell me that I should see my cousin more, that he is lonely and needs some encouragement on going out and that I am the only cousin he has in the state and that if I wanna see him yk what himself. I told her obviously I didnt, but that I am always busy, and she told me to stop making excuses.

A little background info about my cousin and I. My cousin does NOTHING and I mean NOTHING. He is 22 years old, he has no job, does not go to school, does not own a car, doesn’t even go to the gym or leave the house. I on the other hand am a full time student at a community college taking prerequisites for the dental hygiene program there, I am a full time dental assistant at an orthodontic office, have a 10 year old sibling I take care of, have errands to do, I go to the gym etc.

My aunt continues to pressure me into seeing my cousin, telling me that I have no excuses to not. I tell her that I have homework every single day I get home from work, and that I only have 2 days off and spend them relaxing, or taking care of my sibling. She states im lying about so much homework because she went to college and that she isnt stupid. She tells me to invite him out to the movies, to go out,etc. However I am spending MY time and MY money to go see him. He does not have a car so I have to waste my gas, he does not have a job so I have to spend my money, so on and so forth. She wants me to take HER responsibility as a mother, meanwhile she is vacationing week after week.

I told her that idgaf what happens to him and that he could yk what for all i care because he is a bum and does not want to better himself and I am not going to raise someone I did not birth. Soooooo AITAH?
