I (21F) work in a cafeteria as a waitress/barista, working there is great but my bosses put a lot of pressure on us to be very punctual - which I completely understand is our duty as workers - as there are coworkers who are approximately 10 to 25 minutes late, the problem lies in the fact that since I have been working there (7 months approximately) they never open at the right time (11 am) and they always keep us waiting for 30 minutes sometimes even more than an hour outside the store EVERY MORNING (it is worth mentioning that they live behind the store) plus the fact that sometimes most of us leave our shift 10-20 minutes late to leave everything clean. Today our boss gave us the notice that starting tomorrow he will start counting all the minutes that each one of us is late and will make us give them back after work time to which I responded - almost without thinking and by instinct - "And that will apply to all the times you have us waiting outside the store for more than 30 minutes waiting for you to open? because if you want to count the time we are late we can do the same with the time you make us waste. It's stupid, unfair and makes no sense for you to demand something from us that you do much worse."He told me that is not the way to answer a boss like that, that if I didn't like his rules I should resign because he is our superior, and I just kept quiet thinking that maybe I screwed up by saying it that way😓😓😓
