📝 AITA for telling my sister I won’t babysit her kids every weekend anymore?

I (28F) have been helping my older sister (34F) with her two kids (ages 3 and 6) pretty regularly. At first it was once in a while — like when she had something important or needed a break. I get it, parenting is tough, and I don’t mind helping out. But lately, it’s become every weekend.

She drops them off Friday night and picks them up Sunday evening. That’s my entire weekend, gone. I work full-time during the week, and I have my own life. I’ve tried hinting that it’s becoming too much, but she always responds with, “You’re so good with them,” or “They love staying with you!” which is sweet, but not the point.

Last week I finally told her straight up that I can’t keep doing this every weekend. I said I’m happy to help occasionally, but I also need time for myself, to rest or have a social life. She got super defensive and said I was being selfish and that “family is supposed to support each other.”

Now she’s barely talking to me and even told our mom I “abandoned her.” Our mom is on her side, of course, saying I should be more understanding. But I feel like I’ve been taken advantage of.

So, AITA for setting that boundary?
