I currently live with two roommates, and until recently, things have been relatively smooth between us. That changed when I came down with a pretty bad illness. I had a high fever, chills, and felt absolutely drained. I made it clear earlier in the week that I wasn’t feeling well and really needed rest to recover.
Despite knowing this, my roommates decided to host a full-on party in our apartment. They didn’t check in with me beforehand or give any kind of warning. That night, the apartment was packed with people, music was blaring, and I couldn’t get a moment of peace. I was stuck in my room, feeling miserable and completely ignored in my own home.
Now I’m seriously thinking about moving out, even though we still have six months left on the lease. Luckily, I’ve saved up some money recently, so covering the cost of leaving early wouldn’t be impossible. But when I mentioned it to them, they acted like I was being dramatic and said it was no big deal since it was just one night.
Am I in the wrong for wanting to leave? I feel like they showed zero consideration for what I was going through. At this point, I don’t even feel comfortable being here. Should I try to ride it out, or is it fair to start looking for a way out?
