At roughly 11 AM - 12 PM, I was driving my friend home, which was a 9 min one way journey (18 minute round-trip) from my house.

I’ve been doing this here and there since he doesn’t have a license (due his ADHD, brain fog which has recently been treated) and I’m the only one that lives in his direction.

On the way, he mentioned he was hungry and he suggested a range of places to stop along the way. I repeatedly said no.

At that point, I was really tired. It was past midnight, and I didn’t want to deviate from my already elongated path and I just wanted to go to bed.

After a few more “suggestions” to stop and get food, I eventually agreed to stop at McDonalds, possibly at my mates suggestion or possibly out of my own volition because my weakness is their soft serves.

However, when we arrived at the drive-thru, they told me the soft serve machine was broken.

In response I just drove away, not giving my friend time to order as I just wanted to go to bed.

My friend got upset because I didn't wait for him to order his food, he's told the story to our friends who seem to agree I was in the wrong.

Am I the asshole?
