Title. So for context, my uncle, who is struggling financially, wants to drive her daughter to an event. In the middle of the trip, he caught in an accident, breaking the left mirror completely (mirror+the internal mechanism to move the mirror), denting the car in process.
The thing is, this car isn't a new car, it's a hand me down car from my father, but I have waited two weeks for the car to return from mechanic shop for required fixes. The car doesn't have much value in it since it's an entry level car, but still, it's the first thing that I own personally, so it feels somewhat special to me.
With that being said, my uncle, as I mention in the title, unable to pay for the repair and replace the broken mirror, so my mother pay out of her own pocket to fix it. All and all is fine, but in the future, if anyone of my family member beside my parent or sibling, I am reluctant to lend it anymore. AITA for being paranoid that things like this will happen?
