About a year ago, one of my friends really changed. I'd known him since I was 18, went through thick and thin, we were very close. At about 22, he got married to this awful woman who forbade him to talk to me anymore, just a proper control freak. So about 7/8 years later they got divorced and he got back in touch. It was great. Just like the old days.

He then got married again to a wonderful Russian lady who really brought out the best in him, it was great to see. He was a little unhinged in general, but all in all a good guy.

After a while though, he started to get worse and worse. He was doing drugs and alcohol every single night. Low stakes stuff like weed and wine, but it was every single night. He would message me nonstop about how fucked up he was, but just chatting absolutely gibberish. Talking about how he would be "riding the cosmic wave" on his drugs, and he would just constantly send me videos off his face

This alone was enough for me, but its not even the worst bit. He was so utterly obsessed with money, and was an absolute capitalist slave. He had two 50k a year jobs and could easily pull down £120k a year doing his jobs and freelance. But he would laud it over me, every single day. He'd message me stuff like "can't wait to see what im doing with my fat stack" or asking me what i was going to do with all my money that month

For context, I lost my job because of covid and was scraping by teaching English on iTalki for £6 an hour (I was formerly an HLTA). EVERY single night, he would get high and atart going on about how much money he had. , or how high he was. He had a 3 story brand new house with the second floor not being used at all, while I was struggling to afford a 1 bed flat in a rural village.

I would ask him night after night after night to stop talking to me about money or to not message me while he was taking drugs but it would never stop.

He later claimed to have BPD and I found out on his reddit account that his amazing wife left him because he'd just turned into a twat.
