Last year me (35m) my wife (34f) and kiddo (8f) planned a trip to key west Florida with our friends (45m/45f). We rented a nice Airbnb right on the water and paid a pretty penny for it (all together our half was $2100 for the Airbnb). Our trip is coming up at the end of June, but last week we had a surprise at my wife’s doctors appointment and found out she’s 6 months pregnant. Her doctor won’t let her travel that late in pregnancy so we’re probably going to lose out on our plane ticket costs too. Our friends are still wanting to go to key west (understandably so) but they don’t want to buy us out or cancel for a full refund. Am I the asshole for asking them to buy us out or cancel the rental for the week?
