So for reference, I have been selling on Facebook marketplace for a few years now, it’s not a full time thing or anything but I do it on the side here and there to make some extra money. I posted a pink keyboard, strawberry shaped mouse, and a baby pink desk cover all for $10. It all cost me way more but obviously it had been opened and displayed and such so I just wanted to make a few dollars. I sold it to a man about a week ago who has been texting me via marketplace almost daily asking how to work the keyboard. I l had responded prior once already and essentially told him, I didn’t know. I never used the thing. I bought it, displayed it, but could never figure out how to get it working (it’s Bluetooth and I’m notoriously bad with that. I listed in the listing that it’s Bluetooth). After telling him once I didn’t know he texted me for two more days saying the keyboard didn’t work. I finally responded as politely as I could, stating that I was sorry that it didn’t work. But that I didn’t know how to help him, and the only advice that I would have would be to take it to a Best Buy and see if they could fix it or just toss the keyboard. I did the math and mentioned that each item only came out to like $3 so I wasn’t sure what they wanted me to do about the situation. I told them I was sorry they couldn’t figure it out and to have a nice day. They proceeded to go into our messages and find my phone number (given for zelle payment) and texted me this. “You didn’t need to be a little snot. I was just seeing if you knew how to fix the damn keyboard. Smh. Reported.” He then proceeded to literally request $3 from me via zelle, going as far as to call me a “little snot” and tell me he reported me to Facebook. I’ve never experienced something like this and I genuinely was as nice as I could be about the whole thing. I’m just wondering if I really deserved all of that? AITA?
