So my girlfriend and I have been together about two years. We live in a small apartment and there is only one bathroom. What happens is she will go into the bathroom every morning and start farting and splattering while I'm trying to eat my breakfast. When I ask her to close the door she says that it's important that the whole apartment maintains a "collective energy" and that it's not right to close off one part of the space from another.

I have told time and time again that that's fine, but that in the case of the bathroom I really think it's just kind of gross. The last time I told her this she started crying and asked me why I thought she was gross. I told her I didn't think she was gross, but rather the act of pooping itself was what seemed gross to me.

In the end I decided to break up with her. AITAH?
